Welcome to TalCraft!
Hi there! This is the first page of my journal. I’d like to introduce you to the world and the various projects we’ve started.
Main base
Everyone needs a place to set in. We chose a hill enclosed by a river, a swamp, a birch forest and an extremely bugged biome from Extra Planets, made of ice and the damned Oberon stone (you’ll later understand why this block is damned).
From left to right:
- A building made of stone bricks (quite awful, it needs a make up) that will contain all vanilla crops automated with EnderIO
- Below it there’s Ghyalux’ machinery; it’s a bit messy, it does a lot of things, mainly ore processing (duplication). He doesn’t play anymore (too busy with life), so I have to manage it
- In the center, made of birch slabs, there’s the first important build: it develops underground (it’s small, actually) and has a warehouse and basic needs (furnaces, crafting tables and beds)
- On the right there’s the sheep farm, with a colored cell for each wool color
- The building on the right is better seen in the next image
Here’s another view, showing the place where we manage all things Tinkers' construct. Behind the totem there’s the smeltery, where metals can be smelted.
The lab
Lollo (the only active player now, beside me) is responsible for JurassiCraft, GalactiCraft and Botania, and he needed a place to put his stuff in.
When we the world was generated, an Extra planets bug caused parts of the Oberon moon to spawn in the Overworld. I didn’t investigate much into it and didn’t do anything to fix it, so we kept the world with these big broken chunks.
Nevertheless, we had the idea of putting the rocket launch station inside it, while Lollo’s base could develop around the station. So we set up a BuildCraft quarry and let it dig a huge hole into the mountain. The quarry gave us more than 20k blocks of Oberon stone (that’s where our hate come from, since it’s also an unusable block for building, being awful). Thanks Iron chest and Storage drawers for helping us.
We then had the idea to expand the building by adding floors, each one dedicated to one mod/concept. Floor digging was made semi-automatically by BuildCraft’s filler set to “clear” mode.

Magical house
I was the one responsible for magic mods (Thaumcraft + addons and Ars Magica 2). I also needed a place for my stuff. I decided to get a little bit further (~200 blocks) and build my house inside a hill I dug.
I made a main hall as a center point for all other rooms. On the left there’s Ars Magica’s stuff, on the right Thaumcraft’s.
(It still needs a lot of decoration)
Jurassic Park
One of our most exiting projects is building a huge zoo with all the mobs available with the JurassiCraft mod. It’s a really long term project, we just started the outer wall and planned the space.
